Rebozo

Besides being a mommy (which is what I normally post about), I am also a Doula and a private breastfeeding counselor. I recently got a new rebozo, which I am very excited about. A friend brought it back with her from Mexico. (Thanks Loie!!) It is beautiful and so finely woven. I can't wait to use it! The rebozo is a traditional Mexican shawl that is long enough to wrap around a pregnant woman's body, with a little extra (about 4-5 feet). The rebozo is a multifunction tool for labor, used to assist the mother into various positions and for relaxation. I found this video on youtube of a father helping comfort the mommy, using a rebozo. Besides comfort, rebozos can also be very useful to encourage babies to move from a posterior to an anterior position. A wonderful site to visit to get more info on this subject is www.spinningbabies.com
