Midwifery School?!?!?

I received a question on my last post about the fact that I have been seriously contemplating attending school for midwifery?
I do have lot on my plate, but the prospect is REALLY exciting to me.
I enjoy classroom learning for the social aspect and getting to throw ideas around, however, I am really looking at distance learning so that I can be with my family more and it is much more financially plausible.
I have been thinking about attending the Ancient Art Midwifery School http://www.ancientartmidwifery.com/
If anyone has any ideas, opinions, or helpful hints........lemme know!!!

I wasn't thinking you were crazy to do it because you had so much on your plate...I thought you had already enrolled somewhere and I just didnt know!

My advice to you would be to talk to local midwives who know about the school/its curriculum etc and make sure that you can get registered and take the NARM with that schooling. Distance learning is more affordable and more realistic for a lot of us with families, but there are a lot of obstacles and biases that you will run into. Also, I don;t know what the status of midwifery is in OR, but you should look into that as well. It would be a shame to do their courses and then find out that is means nothing to the powers that be. I have never heard of that school, and when I asked around I found out that they are not accepted by a lot of midwifery associations/bodies and it would be a waste of time to do their program because it is not a registerable nor a recognizable midwifery education school. but that's here in AB, and it might be totally different there.
