The Past Year
1:30 PM Posted In blogs , breastfeeding , holidays , parenting Edit This 1 Comment »In the tradition of "If all of the other kids jumped off of a bridge/cliff, would you?" (yes, apparently I would) Here are some of the things that I have been up to the past year.
1. I have attended the 3 births necessary for Doula certification.
2. I have continued to successfully nurse my toddler son.
3. I have moved.
4. I have FINALLY gotten my daughter the help she has needed/deserved for years in this new school system.
5. I have ended a relationship.
6. I have been very, very alone. Even when others are around, alone.
7. I have been to more soccer and basketball games, band concerts than I can count.
8. I visited a new city.
9. I attended several different breastfeeding trainings and conferences (approx. 45 hrs)
10. I have spent one more year dedicating 10-15 hours a week helping other mothers successfully breastfeed their children.
At the end of the day, I never think it's enough.
